George Rizner

June 22, 1923 — July 5, 2017

Loving husband and father, George Rizner, age 94, of Neillsville passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Neillsville Retirement Community. George was born June 22, 1923, in the town of Washburn, to Mike and Rose (Kalas) Rizner. He was raised on a dairy farm along with his two sisters and five brothers. He was called to military service in 1943 where he served in the Army Medical Corp and Military Police while stationed in France during World War II. After he was discharged in 1946, he went to Milwaukee where he found work at Allis Chalmers as a welder. After working there 34 years he retired and returned to Neillsville in 1983. He was united in marriage to Nancy Mueller January 1, 1988. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, traveling and gardening.He is survived by his wife, nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his son, Michael, who died in an auto accident at age 24. He was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; Anton, Emil, Edward, Frank and Bill and two sisters, Albie and Bessie.A private memorial service for George will be held at the Neillsville City Cemetery.
