Richard Earl Buchholz

Richard Buchholz, age 84, of Neillsville, WI died January 2, 2017 at the Stoney River Memory Care Center in Marshfield, WI.Richard Earl Buchholz was born on March 13, 1932 in Neillsville, WI the son of Fred and Mabel (Morse) Buchholz. He was a life-long resident of Clark County as he grew up in the town of Weston and attended Christie area schools He married Viola (Free) Buchholz on November 1, 1952 at the York Center United Methodist Church. They lived in the Christie area and farmed on the Buchholz family farm. Richard was a member of the Neillsville Men's Club. His passion in life was farming and he enjoyed playing baseball, softball, hunting and fishing.He is survived by four children, Roger (Joan), Dennis (Judy), Randy and Becky all of Neillsville, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four sisters, Leona Mueller, Martha (Leland) Appleyard, Alice (Gerald) Smith, Caroline (Larry) Spaete and a brother, Arnold (Eileen) Buchholz.He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, a son, Fredrick, his parents, a brother Fredrick and a brother-in-law, Arnold Mueller.A Memorial Service for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 at the York Center United Methodist Church. Pastor Michael Carlson will officiate. Interment will be in the Marie Louise Chapel Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday at the Church.Online Condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.
