Evelyn Heiman, age 85, of Neillsville, WI died on Monday, October 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by family.Evelyn Ruby Heiman was born on September 29, 1931 in West Almond, NY the daughter of George and Gladys (Hizer) Bedell. When Evelyn was young, her and her family moved to the Fairchild area. She graduated from Fairchild High School. After graduating, Evelyn worked at the Prock Store in Neillsville, first as a house helper and then as a store clerk. She was united in marriage to Francis L. Heiman on Oct. 15, 1955, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. Evelyn and Francis raised their children and farmed in the town of Weston their entire married life. Francis died on October 3, 2010. Evelyn was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the St. Anthony Circle of the PCCW. She enjoyed doing puzzles and word puzzles, gardening and tending to her flowers. She especially enjoyed reading and when it got too hard to read she would listen to books on her iPod. Most important in her life, however, was her family. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and was their biggest supporter in all they were involved with in their daily lives. She is survived by her; children, Ann (John) Faust of Marshfield, Mark (JaNel) Heiman of Neillsville, Katie (John) Ernst of Hortonville, Greg (Deanna) Heiman of Neillsville and Liz (Laverne) Gregorich, Jr. of Greenwood; grandchildren, Michael, Scott, Janell, Daniel, Matthew and Julia Heiman, Adam, Nathan and Thomas Ernst, Molly (Kasidy) Huffman, Maggie and Max Heiman, Olivia and Elynor Gregorich; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Landon, Alissa, Tevyn, Kieran and Madelyn, a brother, Harry (Elaine) Bedell of Neillsville, WI and a sister, Elsie Melby of Osseo, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Bob and Everett Bedell and a brother-in-law, Melvin Melby. The Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant will be Rev. Varkey V. Joseph. Music will be provided by Vicente Cortez, organist and St. Mary's Choir. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
