Arvid Dale Dopp

Arvid Dopp, age 82, of Neillsville, WI died Sunday, July 3, 2016 in the Emergency Room of the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.Arvid Dale Dopp was born on April 7, 1934 in Rhinelander, WI the son of Karl and Esther (Lowe) Dopp. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Platteville with a Bachelor of Science degree and from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a Master of Science degree. In 1955, Arv was united in marriage to Carol White. They moved to Neillsville in the 1960's. Carol taught elementary education for 23 years and for more than 30 years, Arv was employed by the University of Wisconsin Extension Service.They were members of the United Methodist Church in Neillsville. Arv was a long-time member of the Neillsville Rotary Club and his hobbies included skiing, hunting and playing many rounds of golf.He is survived by his son, Mark Dopp, a daughter-in-law, Sherry Edwards Dopp of McLean, VA, a granddaughter, Kerrigan Dopp of Chicago, IL and his beloved cat, Ursa.He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol in 2005, a son, Scott in 1996 and his parents.A Memorial Service for Arvid will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. before the service.
