Joan M. Counsell, 80, of Neillsville, died on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.Joan Marie Counsell was born on June 21, 1936 in Chicago, IL the daughter of John and Catherine Blaskowski. On Augst 11, 1956 she eloped with Jack Counsell and together they farmed for many years on their farm in Pine Valley. Joan loved farming, taking care of Jack and especially gardening. Flowers were her passion. She is survived by a daughter, Laura Chubb of Neillsville, a grandson, Jerry James (Shelly Juers) Chubb of Wausau, WI and a great granddaughter, Kisa. She is further survived by sisters; Theresa Long of Pocahontas, IL and Jenny Ratulowski of Chicago, IL, brothers, Stanley Blaskowski of Stratford, WI and Theodore Blaskowski of West Bend, WI.Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brothers, John, Raymond, Eddy and Freddy.A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, WI. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Providing music will be Eileen Zank, organist. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2016 at the Gesche Funeral Home.
