Gary Lee Fitzmaurice

Gary Fitzmaurice, age 63, of Neillsville, WI died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his homeGary Lee Fitzmaurice was born on November 20, 1952 in Neillsville, WI the son of Philip J. and Edith J. (Vinney) Fitzmaurice. He attended grade school in Humbird and graduated from ACHM High School in 1970. In 1971 he began a 33 year career at the Nelson Muffler factory in Neillsville. On July 8, 1989 he was united in marriage to Darla M. Opelt in Neillsville. After the muffler factory closed he worked for Chili Implement for a year and then as a flag man for American Asphalt for 9 years. He retired last year due to his health.Gary was a long-time member of the Wildlife Turkey Federation. He loved bowling, hunting, fishing and anything to do with being outdoors. Most of all, though, he loved being with his girls and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Darla, three children, Jennifer (Matt) Luchterhand of Neillsville, WI, Brittany (Adam Krohn) Fitzmaurice of Granton, WI and Noelle Fitzmaurice serving at an Air Force Base in Italy. Two grandchildren, Damien Luchterhand and Logan Krohn, his mother, Edith Fitzmaurice of Humbird, WI, 7 siblings, Phil (Gezell) Fitzmaurice of Janesville, WI, Vicki (Robert) Dobson of Humbird, WI, Mary Rochester of Neillsville, WI, Kathy (Mark) Hoge of Humbird, WI, Daniel (Wendy) of Humbird, WI, Timothy (Rebecca) Fitzmaurice of Humbird, WI, Julie (Randy) Johnson of Humbird, WI and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Philip "Rusty" Fitzmauric, a niece, Heather Kinchen and a brother-in-law, Bruce Rochester.Funeral Services for Gary will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Terry Marg will officiate. Interment will be in the Mentor Cemetery in Humbird, WI. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home.Honorary casket bearers are his grandchildren, Damien Luchterhand and Logan Krohn.Casket bearers are: Rick Dimmitt, Eugene Opelt, Robert Fitzmaurice, Steve Webster, Adam Davel and Keith Clemens.Online Condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.
