Dwight F. Anderson, 87, of Neillsville, WI formerly of Waupaca, WI, died on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Kourtland House in Greenwood, WI where he currently resided.Dwight Freeman Anderson was born on December 16, 1927 in Waupaca, WI the son of Nels and Eva (Reiben) Anderson. At the age of 3 Dwight lost his hearing as a result of having rheumatic fever. He graduated from Port Wing High School and then went to work as a machinist for Logamann Brothers in Milwaukee for many years. While attending a lip reading class at the Milwaukee Hearing Society he met his future wife, Anita. They were united in marriage on July 25, 1953. Dwight was very active throughout his life and loved gardening, swimming, riding bike, raising finches but most of all he loved his church. He was a Deacon at the Marantha Assembly of God Church for the Deaf where he was a member. His family spent many summers at the Spencer Lake Bible Camp where they would swim and water ski. He lived in Saukville, WI from 1977 to his retirement in 1990. He and Anita moved to Las Vegas, NV where he lived for 15 years. Dwight eventually lost his eyesight and moved to Neillsville, WI to live with his daughter, Cheri Taubenheim. Throughout his life Dwight maintained a great attitude and always overcame challenges with a strong faith in the Lord. He is survived by two daughters; Cheri (Tony) Taubenheim of Neillsville, WI and Bridget (Troy) Bretl of Fredonia, WI, three grandsons; Jason, Jeremy (Marissa) and Trevor and two great grandchildren; Nikita and Jaeden. Dwight is also survived by siblings; Kermit, Elwyn and Charlene Fugleberg.Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anita, a son in infancy and siblings; Robert, Laverne, Leroy, Alois, Marlene, Charlotte, Francis, Darlene and Quentin.A Memorial Service will be held for Dwight at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Sally Rendell will officiate. Visitation time to greet the family will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. before the service.There will also be an Open House held for Dwight from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Troy and Bridget's house in Fredonia.In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed in Dwight's name to the Center for Communication, Hearing and Deafness, 10243 W.
