Ruth E. Boyer, age 93, Neillsville, Wisconsin, died on, July 26, 2015 at her home after being lovingly cared for by her family in her last month of life. Dying was not Ruth's idea; she still had books to read and wanted to see her grand and great grandchildren grow up. Ruth was born January 7, 1922 to Harry and Elsbeth (Schaller) Beilke on a farm in Granton, Wisconsin. She graduated from Granton High School in 1940. She was proud to have graduated from Wood County Normal School, Wisconsin Rapids in 1942 with a teaching degree, furthering her education at Stevens Point College. Ruth taught in one room schools in Clark County from 1942-1951 and was always proud of her students. She was united in marriage to Lyle J. Humboldt on August 21, 1948 and had 4 children. Ruth retired from teaching when her first child was born. She later worked at Wedges Creek Research Farm from 1967- 1979, making many good friends there. Lyle died unexpectedly January 19, 1968. Ruth married Marvin Boyer on October 18, 1975 at Globe Lutheran Church and they have lived on Marvin's family farm in Town of Seif to the present date. Ruth loved reading. She would rate the books on how much she liked them, "Very, very, very good" was a book you better read, "Fair" meant that you might as well not bother. Recipe collecting was one of her hobbies, she was still collecting them a week before she died. Her grandchildren loved her colloquialisms such as "you'se guys", "oh, my land" and "my garsh". She had a contagious laugh and sharp wit. Her mind was as sharp as a tack right up to the end. Ruth loved and was so proud of her family. She kept track of what was happening in their lives and never missed a birthday. She was always fair to each of them, never giving more to one than the other. Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Marvin, Daughters: Judy (Bernie) Spiegel, Oregon, WI and Joyce (Ron) Hennig, Eau Claire, WI and Son: Gary (Brenda Gilbert) Humboldt, Neillsville, WI. Grandchildren: Jay (Jennifer) Spiegel, Tyler Spiegel, Justin (Ashley) Hennig, Kristopher (fianc Andrea Brandon) Hennig, Katie Humboldt, Lucas Humboldt, Brandon Humboldt, Dylan Humboldt. A Memorial Service for Ruth will be held on Friday, July 31 at 1 p.m. at the Gesche Funeral Home, 4 S. Grand, Neillsville. Pastor Warmuth, Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the service. A special thank you to Ministry Home Hospice Services, Marshfield Hospital, 6th floor and Dr. Timothy Meyer and Jane from Memorial Medical Center. To my children: "Be not sorrowful that I am gone And my earthly life is done. Be not sad I passed away For in you, my children, I live each day. There is a little of me in all of you. In each new one I live anew, As long as there are children to carry on. I've had my share of love, sorrow and strife. I have lived a full and fruitful life. So do not mourn, and do not weep, For I have earned this peaceful sleep." MotherOnline Condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.
