Robert Clarence Henchen

Robert Henchen, age 85, of Neillsville, WI died Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.Robert Clarence Henchen was born at home in Globe, Wisconsin the son of Clarence and Agnes (Minsass) Henchen. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Swiech on June 9, 1955. He retired from the Nelson Muffler Factory in the mid-'90's and then worked as a skilled laborer doing electrical and plumbing work in the area.Robert was active in the VFW Legion Post 6220. He enjoyed hunting, being out in the woods and helping out his neighbors. He was a very hard worker and always looked for ways to improve himself taking college classes into his 70's. He was very loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.He will be missed dearly by his wife, Evelyn, daughter, Rita (Terry) Sternitzky of Neillsville, WI, granddaughter, Bobbi Jo (Dan Moore) Delo of Neillsville, WI, brothers and sisters, Clarabel "Lefty" Djubinski of Greenwood, WI, Clarence "Snuffy" (Ethel) Henchen of Marshfield, WI and Ronald (Joane) Henchen of Eau Claire, WI, many nieces and nephews, friends and his cat, Mischief.He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris (Victor) Dierks, brothers, Art Henchen and Delmon "Butch" Henchen and a brother-in-law, Andrew Djubinski.Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Military Honors will be accorded by the Wallis Hinker Brux Greenwood American Legion Post 238. Graveside Services in City Point, WI will be private.Online Condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.
