Billy Young, age 65, of Neillsville, WI died on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.Billy Lee Young was born on May 31, 1948 in Marietta, Ohio the son of Billy Lee and Norma (Abbott) Young Sr. His family moved to Muncie, Indiana where he spent his childhood. He worked with his dad for Tropicana Co. for many years. He was united in marriage to Crystal Thompson on February 15, 1979 in Rockford, IL. Billy went on to school in Milwaukee and received an Associates degree in Industrial Engineering. He furthered his education at Mount Scenario College in Ladysmith, WI receiving a Bachelors Degree in 1985. Billy and Crystal moved to the Neillsville area and worked as Social Workers for many years. Billy also worked for Ashley Furniture in Arcadia. Throughout his whole life, Billy loved being a Silversmith and creating jewelry. He created many pieces for his family and friends. Billy loved his family and spending time with them doing many different activities including kayaking, camping, hiking, riding motorcycle, canoeing and many trips to waterparks. Billy also loved being an uncle and spending time with his nieces and nephews was very important to him. He had a big heart and shared that by helping many people and always seeing the good in everyone.He is survived by his wife, Crystal, a daughter, Nora Nicole Young of Black River Falls, WI, and sons, Christopher Thompson of Sun Prairie, WI and William Young of Illinois and a sisters, Debbie Lee Young of Illinois and Willa Redcloud of Black River Falls, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Billy was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dixie Young.A Funeral Service will be held for Billy at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday morning prior to the service. Burial will be in the Dewey Mike Cemetery.Serving as casket bearers will be Dale Berger, John Harris, Gerard Metoyer, Randall Redcloud, Ben Gumz and Keith Hineman.
