Rose Krultz, age 87, of Neillsville, WI died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, WI.Rose Marie Krultz was born on April 29, 1925 the first child of Matthew and Mary (Briski) Malnar, at the home of her grandparents, George and Mary Malnar. She was born in the Township of Hendren, Clark County, Wisconsin. This area is also known as Gorman. The first year of her life was spent on their farm. That summer her father and maternal Uncle, Matt Briski went to work in the harvest fields of North Dakota. Rose and her mother went to live with her maternal grandparents, Matt and Katherine Briski on their farm in the township of Mead, Clark County. Later in October of that same year, Rose's father went to work in the building trades in Chicago, IL. In the spring of 1926 Rose and her mother went to Chicago to join Rose's father. In the spring of 1927, Rose, around the age of two, was returned to her paternal grandparent's home, when her mother went to work in the Baby Ruth Candy factory and later at Thordanson's Electric Company, where she enjoyed soldering. In 1929, Rose's mother quit her job since she had only seen Rose but once in two years. Rose was then brought to Chicago to join her mother and father. Her sister, Dolores was born in 1933 and her brother, Matthew born in 1935. Rose's mother worked for a short time after that and then became a stay at home mother. Rose was enrolled in Komiskey Park School, where she was double promoted twice and finished eight grades in six years. In 1936, the family moved back to Willard, WI where her parents purchased a tavern. At that time, Willard State Grade School consisted of grades 1 10. Rose completed the two years of high school ranking number one in her class. She lacked transportation to finish her last two years and Greenwood High School, Greenwood, WI. On June 5, 1941 Rose married Mike Krultz, Jr. Daughter Darlene was born in 1942, son, Michael was born in 1944 and son, Robert was born in 1947. Mike was drafted into the Army in 1943 and sent to the Pacific Theatre of War. During that time her mother, Rose and siblings lived at her maternal grandparent's home in Willard. After WWII, Mike taught school in Willard, being both teacher and Principal. In 1947 the family moved to Neillsville, where Mike assumed his elected position of County Clerk.Rose became a full-time homemaker and dedicated herself to her family. Later, for many years, she worked part-time in the Veteran's Service office and also helped Mike in their insurance and tax businesses. She was a long time active member of the VFW. Rose loved to play cards, dance, spend time at their cottage, and be with her grandchildren. At the birth of her first grandchild she assumed the fond nickname of "Mamie".Rose is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Donald) Zukowski of Owen, WI, two sons, Michael (Diane) Krultz of Medford, WI and Robert Krultz of Neillsville, WI, her sister, Dolores (Robert) Zukowski of Thorp, WI, and brother, Fr. Matthew Malnar of La Crosse, WI, and the following grandchildren, Kathryn Pszeniczny, Donald A. Zukowski, David Zukowski, Karen Pszeniczny, Kay Vater, Daniel Zukowski, Jason Krultz, Jenne Miles, Kristi Emmerichs, Kevin Krultz, and great grandchildren, Alison and Riley Krultz, Mason and Madison Miles, Olivia, Alek and Ari Pszeniczny, Matthew and Lauryn Zukowski, Brock and Jake Zukowski, David, Ashley, Halle and Morgan Pszeniczny, Michael, Sarah and Eric Vater and Teegan, Elliette and Cayden Zukowski and great great granddaughter, Harper Rae Pszeniczny.She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Krultz Jr. and her parents, Matthew and Mary Malnar.Funeral Services for Rose Marie Krultz will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.Casket Bearers will be her grandsons, Donald A.
