Bert C. Smith, age 77, of Neillsville, WI, died on Sunday, August 19, 2012.Bert Carl Smith was born on March 16, 1935 in Chicago, IL, the son of Bert H. and Ruth (Henricks) Smith. Bert worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a Yardmaster for 40 years. He was united in marriage to Martha Jane Foster on August 13, 1993 in Milwaukee, WI. Bert enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.He is survived by a son, John (Susan) Smith of Granton, WI, daughters, Debbie Smith of Milwaukee, WI and Christina Gehrke of Neillsville, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Bert is also survived by siblings, Donald (Maggie) Smith of Winter Park, FL and Ronald (Gloria) Smith of Black River Falls, WI, Joan (Jack) Bielaga of Kewauskum, WI, Jim Annoreno, Bonnie (Tony) Sandoval and June Marie (Joe) Mendez all of Chicago, IL.Bert was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cynthia Marie Smith.A graveside service will be held for Bert at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Dells Dam Cemetery.
