Micheal Frank Nagy, 80, died Tuesday May 1st, 2012, with family by his side in Eau Claire, WI. A memorial service was held on Saturday at The Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville, WI.Mike was born May 25th, 1931, in Los Angeles, CA. He and his sister Rosemary (Sassy) grew up in Whittier, CA raised by their mother Marie (nee Bouton) and Stepfather Jacob Sebastian. Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 25th, 1949 retiring after 20 years of active duty service as a Captain. A true patriot, his bravery and valor on and off the battlefield was acknowledged by his numerous awards including two Purple Hearts, the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Wharang Distinguished Service Medal, Army Occupation Medal Japan, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Korean Presidential Unit Citation and numerous other personal awards. Much of his early life in the military was shared with his wife Rasma Nagy (nee Limbachs). Together they raised seven children, relocating often to accommodate military transfers from Washington State to Japan, Germany, and eventually Fort Meade, MD. After his retirement from the Army in 1969, Mike and Rasma made one final move with their family to Neillsville, WI. Continuing his penchant toward positions of community service, Mike served many years with the Clark County Sherriff's Department and launched the first County Child Support Investigation Agency. He also served as a credit officer at the Cenex Farmers Union Co-op and as a Vice President at the Neillsville Bank. Beyond the love and devotion he demonstrated to his family every day, Mike was also very active in Scouting, serving for many years as the Scoutmaster of Troop 64. Not one to stay idle, Mike started a very successful private investigation business that kept him active and on the road for many years following his retirement from the bank in 1993. Rasma's passing in1996 brought a dark cloud over his life for some time. He was fortunate to find sunshine, love, and support again, marrying Barbara (Bobbie) Kren in1998. Together they continued Nagy and Associates for several years, eventually selling the business and retiring to Eau Claire, WI.Mike is survived by his wife Bobbie; Children Micheal, Michella, Aleksandra, Janis, Milda, David, Diane, Marie, and Jacob; and Grandchildren Brianne, Olivia, Jesse, Rachel, Logan, Gary, Jamie, Brandon, Jordan, Danelle, Samantha, Jaclyn, Laura, Joshua, Rachel, Kayla and Addy.Funeral Home:Gesche Funeral Home4 South Grand AvenueNeillsville, WIUS 54456
