Charles Bowey, age 37, of Alma Center, WI passed away, Thursday, August 18, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospitial in Marshfield, WI.Charles Norman Bowey was born on June 1, 1974 in Waukesha, WI the son of James A. and Nancy L. (Grothmann) Bowey. When Charles was a young boy his family moved to Rockford, IL, where he attended Vandercook Elementary School, Flynn Middle School and Auburn High School. Charles then went to the Diesel Truck Driver Training School in Sun Prairie, WI.He has worked for the State of Illinois at the Deer Check Stations during deer hunting season and as a junior volunteer fireman in Cherry Valley, IL.Charles was a very social person who loved being around his friends. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.He is survived by his mother, Nancy (Gordon) Bates of Alma Center, WI, his father, Jim (Karen) Bowey of Elkhorn, WI, numerous brothers and sisters including his brothers, Patrick (Dischelle) Bowey of Loves Park, IL and Michael Bates of Humbird, WI and a half-sister, Heather (Jason) Cliff of Sharon, WI.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Alice Grothmann and his paternal grandparents, William and Virginia Bowey.A Memorial Service for Charles will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Meg Erickson will officiate.
