Franklin Frank Ernest ZastrowFrank Zastrow, age 78, of Merrill, WI formerly of Neillsville, WI died Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI.Franklin Ernest Zastrow was born on June 12, 1933 in Minoqua, WI the son of Frank H. and Helen Marie (Young) Zastrow. He served in the United States Army 38th Infantry Regiment Company C as a Corporal stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington. He was united in marriage to Beatrice C. Blaisdell on August 4, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church in Merrill, WI.He worked at Wausau paper mills in Brokaw for 35 years retiring on September 1, 1989.Frank served as cub master for Boy Scout pack #402 and also with church groups. He was an avid reader and enjoyed doing things with his children and grandchildren including camping, fishing, hunting, traveling and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice, sons, Steven E. (Julie) Zastrow of Merrill, WI, Leon D. Zastrow of Menasha, WI, Mark A. (Yvonne) Zastrow of Wausau, WI, Michael L. Zastrow of Neillsville, WI, a daughter, Catherine (Corey) Dornbrack of Merrill, WI, grandchildren, Carl and Rose Dornbrack, Stephanie, Brenda and Marcus Zastrow, Kevin and Laura Jones, brothers, Robert (Dolores) Zastrow of Tomahawk, WI, Wm. Bill Zastrow of Milwaukee, WI, sisters, Norma Thimot of Flagstaff, AZ, Virginia (Philip) Dettmering of Hartford, WI, a son-in-law, Mark Jones of Neillsville, WI and a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Jackie Blaisdell of Gleason, WI.Frank was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Clay Franklin, a daughter, Cynthia Marie Jones and a sister, Marie Olson.A Graveside Service for Frank will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Town of Levis Cemetery, south of Neillsville. Pastor Adam West will officiate.
