Lois May Marshall, age 76, of Melrose, WI died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Family Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Black River Falls, WI.Lois May Ehrhardt was born on November 18, 1934 in Hampton, Iowa the daughter of Grover and Eva May (Atkinson) Ehrhardt. She graduated from Oxboro High School in Oxboro, MN and then went to work as a cashier at the National Tea Supermarket in Bloomington, MN. On February 28, 1959 she was united in marriage to Larry Allen Marshall in Eden Praire, MN. She then raised her family before going back to work as a cashier at the Ben Franklin store in LaCrosse, WI and later at the Hardware Hank in Holmen, WI. She retired in 1992 and they moved to Melrose, WI.Lois loved reading, crossword puzzles and crocheting. She also loved to go flying with her husband and take in the sights. They would also go camping on the weekends and she enjoyed stoking the fire. Lois loved animals especially her horses, cats and dogs, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and taking care of them. She is survived by her husband, Larry, two daughters, Lucinda May (Scott) Gates of Black River Falls, WI and her children, Nicole May Nephew and Jessica May Nephew, step-children, Jonathan Ray Gates and Kathryn Sue Gates, and Lisa May (Kenneth) Holland of Dudley, NC and their son, William Lee Holland. Lois is also survived by a brother, Stanley Ehrhardt of Bloomington, MN and various nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Walter Ehrhardt.A Memorial Service for Lois will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, WI. Pastor Ken Jordan of the Black River Falls Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
