Richard "Dick" James Shaw, age 69, of Neillsville, died on Monday, April 25, 2011 at his farm as a result of a farming accident.Richard "Dick" Shaw was born on December 21, 1941 the son of Francis and Leona (Kuborn) Shaw in Yankton, South Dakota. After his mother's death in 1942, his father married Margaret (nee Koupal) Shaw. He was educated at Tabor Public Schools. The family moved to Wisconsin in 1958 where Richard met and married the love of his life Bonnie (nee Lemons) Shaw on August 17, 1961. He worked several farming jobs, including Mullins Cheese, Granton; Neillsville Milk Products and Bob Shaw Heating & Cooling, Neillsville, until he purchased a farm of his own in 1971. He and Bonnie farmed side-by-side until he retired from dairy farming in 2002. They were currently doing custom heifer raising on the home farm, and he was employed with Mid-State Truck, Marshfield.He was a devoted husband to his wife Bonnie of 49 years, a great dad, and a fun, loveable grandpa. He loved his family, the outdoors and country-life. He was an avid hunter; enjoyed watching sports games and Nascar, and liked playing a good game of dirty clubs, sheepshead or uecker.Richard was a member of the United Church of Christ and he served as Supervisor for the Town of Weston for several years.He is survived by his wife, Bonnie and children, Gregory (Sarah) Shaw of Greenwood, Anthony (Brenda) Shaw of Marshfield, Lana (Jeffrey) Willers of Waunakee, Jennifer (Josh) Cline of Spencer and Ryan (Bobbie Jo) Shaw of Neillsville, 13 Grandchildren, Sophia, Brooke and Ethan Shaw; Kayla (Matt) Flink, Leah and Mara Shaw; Keegan and Kaylee Willers; Devon, Dylan and Dominick Cline; Madelyn Jo Shaw; and a great grandchild, Cashton Flink. He is further survived by six brothers, Donald (Shirley) Shaw of Roswell, NM, Duane (Lill) Shaw of San Antonio, TX, Leonard (Myrna) Shaw of Vesper, WI, Kenneth (Ramona) Shaw of Eagle, WI, Dave (Linda) Shaw of Mukwonago, WI and Dan (Jean) Shaw of Parker, CO and a sister, Eleanor Mazourek of Neillsville, his mother-in-law Edna Lemons of Neillsville and many nieces, nephews and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Delores and father-in-law, Lawrence Lemons.Funeral Services for Dick will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. Pastor Bryan Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
