Jean Marg, age 75, of Neillsville, WI died Thursday, July 08, 2010 at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.Jean Ann Marg was born on September 7, 1934 in West Salem, WI the daughter of Herb and Elvira (Bahnub) Schmidt. She attended Melrose High School and graduated in 1952. On September 18, 1954 she was united in marriage to Donald Marg in Melrose, WI. They moved to Neillsville and Jean worked for 20+ years as a dental assistant for Dr. Carroll Schield. After Dr. Schield retired, Jean held various other jobs in the area until she retired.Jean was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. She was a member of the church choir and the ladies aid. For many years she was involved with the Saddle Tramps Horse Club. She was a personal secretary of the Clark County Fair. Jean also helped with her families construction business and summer stagecoach rides in Sandusky, OH in 67 and 68.She is survived by her husband, Donald, two children, Cindy (Larry) Strangfeld of Neillsville and Jeff Curly Marg of Custer, S.D., five grandchildren, Scott (Corinne) Strangfeld of Colfax, WI, John (Leslie) Strangfeld of DeForest, WI, Marc Strangfeld of Eleva, WI, Matt and Jeff Marg both of Eau Claire, WI. Seven Great Grandchildren, brothers, Don (Elizabeth) Schmidt of Melrose, WI and Harlan Schmidt of Ettrick, WI, sisters, Marlene (Richard) Dopp of Canby, OR and Connie Schmidt of Seattle, WA. In-laws, Irvin (Glenna) Marg of Neillsville, Virginia Marg of Neillsville and Caroline (Roger) Helm of Granton, WI.She was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Elvira Schmidt, sisters-in-law, Beth Schmidt and Lois Marg and a brother-in-law, Melvin Marg.As per Jeans request a Memorial Service for family members will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert will officiate. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Church. A caring and sharing gathering for Jean and Dons friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday at the new American Legion Hall in Neillsville.Honorary Casket Bearers will be her grandsons.
