Devere Krejci

Devere Krejci, age 87, of Neillsville, WI, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Clark County Living and Rehabilitation Center in Owen, WI.

Devere Edward Krejci was born on October 5, 1936, in Neillsville, WI, the son of Rex and Eunice (Grosnick) Krejci. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1954, and then worked at the Cenex Co-op Gas Station on the corner of 6th and West Street, where he eventually became manager. On January 11, 1958, he was united in marriage to Barbara L. Struble. They later divorced in 2005. Devere worked for a short time with Mathy Construction, and several years for Gaier Construction before becoming a welder at the Nelson Muffler Factory. He worked at Nelson for over 30 years, retiring in 2006 when the factory shut its doors.

In his spare time, Devere enjoyed hunting, fishing and an occasional trip to the casino. He loved working outdoors, and feeding the birds. He especially enjoyed feeding the vast number of humming birds, sometimes as many as twenty at a time, that would visit him in the summer.

Devere is survived by four children, Scott Krejci of Newburg, IN, Pamela Radcliffe of Edina, MN, Kevin (Cindy) Krejci of Wausau, WI, and Ron (Mandy) Krejci of Neillsville, WI, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Bonnie (Arnie) Eisentraut of AZ and Pat (Ken) Christy of La Crosse, WI, and a sister-in-law, Rae Ann Krejci of Weston, WI.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dwanye, his parents and a brother, Lee.

A graveside service for Devere will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Neillsville City Cemetery.
