Janice Marie Heitman was born on November 23, 1960, in Madison, Wisconsin, born to Roger and Carol Heitman, the second of six children.
Janice graduated from LaFollette High School in Madison, WI in 1979. After high school Janice studied Business Machines at Madison Area Technical College. She also joined the Army National Guard. Janice was a Buck 5 Sargent, and she was trained in telecommunications, light weight mechanics, and as an artillery clerk.
Janice lived in California for many years and is where she had her three boys, Matt, Jeremiah, and Mikey, with former partner Tony Van De Hei.
Janice was an avid NASCAR watcher and proud Packer fan. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, making jewelry, tie dye clothes, and listening to country music.
Janice is survived by her three children: Matt (Tracie) Van De Hei of Spencer, Jeremiah Van De Hei of Granton, and Mikey Van De Hei of Gleason; her three grandchildren Brooklyn & Bristol Van De Hei (Matt), and Castyn Van De Hei (Mikey). Her five siblings: Greg Heitman of Madison, Dawn Garvey of Fort Atkinson, Michael Heitman of Waukesha, Mark (Susan) Heitman of Kalona, IA, Danny (Christy) Heitman of Storm Lake, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Carol Heitman, two sets of grandparents Jake and Ruth Weber, Grace Heitman, and Aunt Donna Heitman.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be planned for spring/summer of 2023.
