Lois Kren, age 95, of Neillsville, WI, died Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Riverside Assisted Living Facility in Neillsville.
Lois Pauline Bemis was born on June 26, 1929 in Black River Falls, WI, the daughter of Earl and Julia (Zimmerman) Bemis. She and her family lived in Humbird, where she attended school until their house burned down. They then moved to Neillsville, where Lois graduated from high school. On March 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Dale Kren in Decorah, IA. Together they farmed and raised their family in Levis Township. In 1987, they sold the farm to their son, Tom and moved into Neillsville.
Lois was a member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and volunteering her time reading to the kindergarten class, and giving tours at the Clark County Jail Museum.
She is survived by her son, Tim (Tammy) Kren of Osseo, WI, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even some great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, a daughter, Sandy, a son, Tom, an infant brother, Darrell Duane Bemis, and sisters, Eileen Kroll, Fran Hansen, Beverly Kneller, Marie Brooks, and Carole Doddridge.
A Memorial Service for Lois will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Interment will be in the Mentor Cemetery in Humbird, WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Gesche Funeral Home.
