Patricia "Pat" Jeanne Hubing

Patricia J. Hubing, age 75, of Neillsville, WI died on Monday, September 21, 2020, in the Palliative Care Unit at the Marshfield Medical Center, Marshfield, WI.

Patricia Jeanne Marek was born on January 7, 1945 in LaCrosse, WI the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Prochaska) Marek-Sheda.  She graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1963 and went to work for General Electric in Dekalb, IL.  Pat was united in marriage to John Hubing on December 9, 1967 in Neillsville, WI where they lived.  Pat worked for 5 years as a bank teller for the Neillsville Bank, 14 years for M&I Bank and several years as a bookkeeper with Cenex. After retiring Pat worked at Pamida for 7 years in customer service and managing the Garden Center during the spring.  Pat was a Master Gardener and everyone enjoyed her abundant produce, flowers and pumpkins.  She was currently serving as treasurer for the Clark County Chapter of the Master Gardener’s Club.  Pat showed many of her gardening projects at the Clark County Fair in Open Class for numerous years.  Pat also worked with the 4-H program helping kids with different projects but mainly leather crafting for over 30 years.  Pat loved spending time with her family especially her grandkids.  She loved cooking, camping with her husband, John and many friends. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Jude’s Circle of the PCCW.  Pat also enjoyed being a part of the decorating committee at St. Mary’s and sewed several banners and alter cloths for them.  She was an excellent seamstress making many wedding and bridesmaid dresses over the years. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 25, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2020 with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary service at the Gesche Funeral Home, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Friday morning at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Serving as casket bearers are Kayla Ratsch, Vicki Ratsch, Brian Demars, Robert Marek, Amy Marek and Josh Pekol.

She is survived by her husband, John, sons, Paul (Missy) Hubing of Neillsville and Scott (Becky) Hubing of Middleton, WI., 5 grandchildren, Tyler & Ben Hubing, Kayla & Vicki Ratsch and Brian Demars,  1 great granddaughter, step-mother, Virginia Marek of Eau Claire, siblings, Carol (Ken) Hill of Chili, Lee (Nancy) Marek of Eau Claire, Tim Marek of Merrillan, Pamela Sheda of Marshfield and Earl (friend Chris) Sheda of Merrillan.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Pat in death are her parents, her step-father, John Sheda, a brother, David Marek, grandparents, John and Agnus Prochaska, Charles and Mary Marek, her mother and father-in-law, Anton & Ethel Hubing, sisters-in-law, Marilyn Gregorich and Patricia (Larry) Anger and brother-in-law, Adrian Hubing.
