Patrick P. Orlowski

March 17, 1949 — November 25, 2024

Libertyville, Illinois

Patrick P. Orlowski, age 75, passed away on November 25, 2024 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.

Pat was born on March 17, 1949 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Anthony Orlowski and Agnes (nee Van Slate) Orlowski.Pat was a man who loved the outdoors. From a young age, he was drawn to hunting and fishing, which he learned from his father. In his 20s, Pat joined the Army and did a tour of Vietnam as a medic. After Pat and Carolyn were married, he expanded his love of the outdoors and became a falconer. In his mid-thirties, Pat became a Probation Officer and moved with his family from Racine, WI to Neillsville, WI where he created deep and meaningful friendships. From the time their daughter was 5, Pat and Carolyn spent weeks every summer camping at Luna White Deer in Eagle River, WI, and later in life, loved taking their grandsons camping there as well, where Pat was able to pass on his love of fishing. In retirement, Pat dedicated 20 years to teaching Hunters Safety. During that time, he was one of the lead rifle range instructors and mentored countless hunters in the Learn to Hunt Program. If you couldn't find Pat outside, then he was either playing Rummy with family or supporting his grandsons at their sporting events. At the end of his life, Pat moved to Grayslake, IL where he could spend more time with the people he loved most. When it came to fashion, Pat always made sure to ask, "Would you be comfortable in a deer blind?" His sense of humor, love of family, and his passion for the outdoors will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of 48 years whom he married on July 17, 1976 in East Troy, Wisconsin; his daughter, Kate (John) Gleich of North Chicago; his grandchildren, George Gleich, Patrick Gleich, Jonathan Gleich, and David Gleich; and his sister, Ann (Kent) Bieganski of Greenfield, WI.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Orlowski; his mother, Agnes Orlowski Gentz; and his brother, Thomas Orlowski.
