Terry Heck

Terry E. Heck, 80, of Neillsville, died on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

Terry Ervin Heck was born on April 9, 1944 in Neillsville, WI the son of Ervin and AnnaFae (Barr) Heck. He grew up in a warm loving home surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He graduated from 8th grade at the Mound School near Christie. His freshmen year he went to Greenwood High School and finished high school at Neillsville High School graduating in 1962. Terry and his brother, Benny had lots of fun rollerskating at Hatfield and Loyal with their cousins. Terry joined the National Guard in Missouri at Fort Leonardwood. In 1966 he married Colleen Anderson in Loyal. They had 4 children. They later divorced. He worked at Wedge's Creek Research Farm taking care of the dogs. He also worked for Brusewitz Construction on Agricultural Buildings. Terry helped his parents farm for many years while his father drove cattle truck. His dear friend, Rita Hannon and he spent many years together. He enjoyed her companionship and wonderful cooking. They still talked every day. He also checked on Harold "Sonny" daily and would talk to his brother, Benny every morning and told him his plans for the day whether it be in his grain truck or on the farm.

He is survived by his children, Jim (Sue) Heck of Greenwood, Terry Lee "Scooter" (Anne) Heck of Elkhorn, Mike (Sue) Heck of Abbotsford and Lori (Renee) Fila of Neillsville, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Benny (Jan) Heck of Neillsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his ex-wife, Colleen.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home.
